About The Artist:
Barbara at DeaKyne Designs is an etched glass artist in the Texas Hill Country. She has been working in glass since 1989, and studied the art of abrasive etching on glass, including advanced techniques with Norm Dobbins in Santa Fe, NM. Her skills also include etching Lexan for aircraft and marine vessels, and photos on glass.
Specializing in sculpting glass to create designs that play off light and color, her architectural projects are featured internationally in restaurants, commercial buildings, hospitals, the U.S. Capitol, and private residences. She has also provided trophies for National shows. Combining her fine arts background, a love of animals, and fascination with glass, she produces a variety of work depicting wild and domestic animals on art glass.
